Willow vs Hers vs Josie: Women’s GLP-1 Providers Compared

If you’re a woman looking for a compounded GLP-1 provider, you’ve likely heard of Willow, Hers and Join Josie. All three providers are positioned for women who either want to lose weight or focus on longevity.

We all hear horror stories of providers being shady… taking your money and providing poor customer service. Obviously we all want to avoid this by all means necessary. With that said, all three of these providers are legitimate, providing professional care, exceptional customer service and clear pricing plans.

But each provider is different, offering different pricing plans, different medications, etc. And that’s what I wanted to discuss today, which should help those who are looking at getting started.

A couple disclaimers:

  • Medical: This blog post is for informational purposes only, always consult your medical provider before starting any new medication.
  • Medication: The GLP-1 providers being compared offer compounded GLP-1s, which are not FDA-approved for weight loss. If you’re looking for brand name medications, I highly recommend you get them through either LillyDirect (Zepbound) or NovoCare (Wegovy).

Pricing Comparison

ProviderCompounded SemaglutideCompounded TirzepatideOral OptionsMicrodosingCommitment
Hers$199/mo (must prepay for 12 months — $2,388 total)❌ Not offered⚠️ Metformin-based oral “kit” ($69/mo) — not a true GLP-1✅ Semaglutide only12-month prepaid
Willow$299/mo$399/mo✅ Oral semaglutide tabletsMonth-to-month, auto bill
Josie$299/mo (oral or injectable)$399/mo or as low as $283/mo with 3-month bundle✅ Oral semaglutide & tirzepatide✅ All optionsMonth-to-month or 3-month bundle (no auto bill)

As you can see, the biggest differences from the pricing table are hers’ 12-month upfront pricing. Obviously you’re buying the meds in bulk so you’ll get the bulk discount (comes out to $199/mo, which is pretty cheap). The only issue hers has is they only offer compounded semaglutide, so if you’re looking for compounded tirzepatide, you can cross them off the list.

This happened to me. I liked hers a lot… like A LOT. However, I knew from my coaching clients and close friends that tirzepatide just works better, but more expensive. But that’s what I wanted, so I decided to look elsewhere.

The next thing you’ll most likely do is try to find a trustworthy provider that offers compounded tirzepatide. You’ll notice Willow and Josie both offer it with month-to-month plans – both priced at $399/mo. However, Josie also offers a 3-month bundle, which costs $897 (one-time payment), which comes out to $283/mo. Hard to beat that price.

But is Josie legit? I’ll cover them first.

Join Josie – Finally A GLP-1 Provider for Menopause

Join Josie offers compounded GLP-1s for women in perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause. They have solutions for weight loss and longevity, oral or injectable, month-to-month and 3-month bundles.

If you visit their website (https://joinjosie.com), you’ll quickly see that they offer compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide (added with vitamin B6 or B12 for personalization). The only thing for you to do is decide which medication you’re interested in, what form (oral or injectable) you want it in, and what plan you want to go with.

If you want a reliable month-to-month plan, which allows patients to choose whether or not to continue, Josie is a great choice. They don’t auto bill. In fact, you have to fill out a “refill form” to continue to the next month. Their compounded semaglutide (oral and injectables) are $299/mo, while compounded tirzepatide (oral and injectables) are $399/mo.

Full Dose or Microdose?

Josie offers full therapeutic doses as well as microdose. Full dose is for women who are looking to lose a significant amount of weight, while microdosing a GLP-1 is for women who want to focus on longevity and easing into the medication with lower risk of side effects.

Note: If you want to learn more, check out my article on microdosing a GLP-1 in Perimenopause.

Month-To-Month or 3-Month Bundles?

Huge savings with the 3-month bundles and kudos to Josie for offering them, as it really keeps the customer in mind with saving money. It’s hard to find compounded tirzepatide for as low as $283/mo, but Josie offers it with their 3-month bundle, paid upfront at $897. The patient will receive all 3 vials at once. Again, no auto billing, you’ll have to fill out the next 3 month refill form before continuing. To me that’s really good business practice – no one likes to be auto billed.

Here’s a table comparing each plan:

MedicationMonthly3-Month Bundle
Compounded Semaglutide$299/mo$697 ($216/mo)
Compounded Tirzepatide$399/mo$897 ($283/mo)
Compounded Sem Microdose$229/mo$599 ($200/mo)
Compounded Tirz Microdose$329/mo$799 ($266/mo)

Stack Medication With Healthy Habits

Josie strategically partners with the Simply Strong App, a women’s strength training program with access to hundreds of high protein recipes. With the purchase of a 3-month bundle, you can get the Simply Strong App free for 3 months.

Taking a GLP-1 comes with potential muscle loss, especially for women in menopause. As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass. However, you can build muscle with the right strength training program and prioritizing high protein meals. Choose from 3 or 4 day workout plans, 30 or 45 minute sessions. All you need is a pair of dumbbells to get started.

If you do it right, and stick to the plan, you’ll have built healthy lifestyle habits after 90 days, which can be sustainable for many years to come. Carrying groceries, housework, moving furniture, and every day tasks will be much easier. You’ll feel strong, confident and in control again.

Hers Medical Weight Loss: Cheap, But Options Are Limited

Hers is by far the longest-tenured telemedicine company of the three brands being compared. They have a plethora of medications for women of all ages.

Their weight loss kit contains metformin, which will most likely not get you the same results as a GLP-1. So, I personally would steer clear of that offer. However, their compounded semaglutide is one of the cheapest options out there.

Hers compounded semaglutide is marketed at $199/mo. Yes, true, but you’ll have to commit for the full year and pony up $2,388. It’s nice that they have an option for women to save money, but there are things to consider when going with a year up front, such as:

  • What if the medication doesn’t work as good as I thought?
  • What if I have bad side effects?
  • What happens if I need a higher dose?

These are questions you’ll want to ask the hers team before signing up.

At least with Josie’s compounded semaglutide 3-month bundle, you’re paying $649 up front, which comes out to $216 per month – very comparable. But the main thing is, it’s 3 months, so if things aren’t going as well as you thought, you can either upgrade to compounded tirzepatide, or stop it all together.

Overall, hers is one of the best budget-friendly GLP-1 providers out there, especially if you’re interested in compounded semaglutide, as they do not offer compounded tirzepatide.

Willow: Unique and Upfront Pricing

Willow keeps things really simple with their month-to-month plans, offering either compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide. Their BMI requirements are rather low, approving almost anyone, as they market their medications as “cosmetic weight loss.”

Their patient portal is user friendly, where you message your matched provider and track your medication.

Willow’s pricing is pretty standard:

  • Compounded Semaglutide: $299/mo
  • Compounded Tirzepatide: $399/mo

There are no discount codes.

So Which One Is Best For You?

Hers shines for low-price compounded semaglutide, making it affordable for women at $199/mo, paid up front for the year ($2,388). Tread lightly, as you could get stuck with a medication that may not work for you.

Willow is great for clear, up front pricing and month-to-month plans. They can prescribe compounded tirzepatide as well as compounded semaglutide, mixed with either vitamin B6 or B12.

Josie excels at offering options for women in perimenopause, menopuase and postmenopause. They have compounded tirzepatide (oral or injections) and compounded semaglutide. Additionally, they offer both GLP-1 medications in microdose format, allowing women to ease in, with the goal of minimizing side effects and promoting longevity. They have flexible month-to-month plans or big savings with their 3-month bundle, along with a recommended strength training and high protein recipe app designed for women in this stage of life.

As a women’s health coach, I really like to stress the importance of building healthy habits with or without GLP-1 medications. Build muscle, focus on high protein meals and get movement throughout your day. Good luck on your journey, and you really can’t go wrong with any of the GLP-1 providers compared in this article.
